Arnie Will Veto Gay Marriage

The California legislature is the first legislative body in the US to approve gay marriage, but that won't be enough to legalize it.

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is concerned that gay marriage goes against the wishes of the public. He says he will veto it.

Republican Assemblyman Jay La Suer echoed Arnie's derision for the legislature's decision. According to La Suer, "History will record that you betrayed your constituents and their moral and ethical values."

Anne Rice Speaks Out on Federal Katrina "Response"

Anne Rice, novelist of "Vampire Lestat" fame, has condemned the federal government and media response to Hurricane Katrina's aftermath.

"Why did America ask a city cherished by millions and excoriated by some, but ignored by no one, to fight for its own life for so long?" Rice wrote in an opinion piece published in the New York Times.

When asked why so many stayed behind in New Orleans after the evacuation notice, Rice responded:
