New Study Shows CO2 Levels Highest in Over 800,000 Years
Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth" highlights data from the European Project for Ice Coring in Antarctica (Epica), which takes samples from antarctic ice to measure temperature and carbon dioxide levels in the Earth's past. Their previous study, referenced in Gore's global warming slideshow, measured 650,000 years in the past, showing a direct correlation between Earth's temperature and CO2. Their latest study measures levels over 800,000 years and shows no deviation from their earlier findings.
Accourding to Dr Eric Wolff from the British Antarctic Survey (BAS):
Ice cores reveal the Earth's natural climate rhythm over the last 800,000 years. When carbon dioxide changed there was always an accompanying climate change. Over the last 200 years human activity has increased carbon dioxide to well outside the natural range."
